In a rhythmic and impactful presentation, three Physical Education teachers from Homer Brink Elementary School: Andy Krise, Lindsay Conroy and Rob Krowiak left their mark at the recent NYS Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Conference (NYSAHPERD) held this November.
The trio, known for their commitment to fostering active and engaging fitness experiences, seized the opportunity to attend and present at the NYSAHPERD Conference after submitting an application. Bringing with them equipment from their Visions FCU Educators Grant to enhance their presentation on Cardio Drumming.
The presentation showcased the fusion of rhythmic drumming and cardiovascular exercise, illustrating how Cardio Drumming can be a fun and effective way to promote physical fitness among students. Attendees were not only treated to an insightful session but also had the chance to actively participate, thanks to the array of equipment brought by the Homer Brink PE teachers.
The equipment, including drumsticks, exercise balls, and specially designed exercise drums, provided a hands-on experience for those in attendance. The engaging session allowed educators to fully grasp the potential of Cardio Drumming as a dynamic addition to their own physical education curriculum.
What set the Homer Brink gym teachers apart was their commitment to sharing resources. In addition to the presentation, they ensured that every attendee left with a comprehensive unit related to Cardio Drumming.
As Homer Brink Elementary School continues to champion innovative approaches to fitness education, the efforts of these gym teachers serve as an inspiring example of how collaboration and resource-sharing can elevate the standard of physical education. With Cardio Drumming leading the way, the school looks forward to fostering an environment where fitness is not only promoted but celebrated in creative and engaging ways.
